During Cornwall's Coastering activities, you will experience an adrenaline-packed, exhilarating adventure, exploring the inter-tidal zone between high and low tide. In an unpredictable environment, coasteering can be hazardous if it is undertaken without instruction and expert knowledge of the area. In addition to being recognised as a top centre for cultural experiences, Newquay Activity Centre provides professional instructors that will assist you in navigating the border between the ocean and the coast while diving from ledges, traversing at low levels and swimming in natural rapids. In addition, Fistral Beach ranked as the No.1 beach for activities in the Sunday Times, is just 500 metres away from Newquay activity centre HQ. Initially, coasteering combined mountaineering and orienteering, and it was first mentioned in the Devon guidebook for climbing. It consists of sea swimming, climbing, traversing, riding natural rapids, and leaping into deep water pools. Our costeers run along the Gazzle, the Cornish word for armpit and a remote stretch of coastline with plenty of wildlife. Newquay, Cornwall, is a great place to experience our coastal flora and fauna up close by going coasteering. In addition to our popular North Coast Challenge and Low Tide coasteering, we offer over seven different coasteering activities. We use the tide to our advantage for this activity, allowing maximum water in the deepwater tributaries for leaps and exciting rapids around the coastal rocks. Cornwall Life Magazine has also named it as a Top 5 beach activity.
