About Us

Coasteering with MUUK Adventure operates from Abereiddy Beach near St Davids. The village of Abereiddy is a real jewel in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. It is the site of the picturesque Blue Lagoon, an old slate quarry that was flooded. During the inception of coasteering in St Davids in the 1980s, the Blue Lagoon was one of the original sites. Since the early days, it has evolved into a mecca for adventure enthusiasts from across the country and beyond. Redbull used it for the first time in 2012 for their World Series Cliff Diving Championships. We are fortunate to be able to take you coasteering in the Blue Lagoon and Abereiddy Bay, a place steeped in beauty, history and adventure.
The activity of coasteering was pioneered in St David's and has grown to be one of the fastest-growing water-based activities in the UK. But what is coasteering? The official National Coasteering Charter's description is "traversing along the coastline where the sea meets the land". You might ask, "great, but what does it involve?" It is a guided adventure around the coastline, exploring caves, coves, blowholes and lagoons. You will have the opportunity to jump off and climb over rugged natural rock formations, as well as swim from point to point, which is certain to get your adrenaline pumping.
This course does not require you to be an excellent swimmer. With all the safety gear we wear, it's more about floating and paddling in the right direction. If you are a non-swimmer, please get in touch with us first. There is no need to be scared of the word "jumping" when considering coasteering. We start you off slowly and build your technique and confidence before tackling the Lagoon towers! But rest assured, there are always other options besides jumping, and you only do what is comfortable for you. We will boulder on the coastline; the climb is not too high and is always carefully controlled, but you will feel exhilarated with a sense of achievement. For us, the most exciting part is that no two coasteers are the same. As a result of factors like tide levels and the swell that nature throws at us, every coasteering session has its challenges and different experiences.
Session times are 9.30 am and 1.30 pm daily from Abereiddy Beach Car Park, from 1st of April through 31st of October. The session lasts approximately 3 hours from arrival to departure (on average, it is around 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours in the water. In rough weather, the time is tailored to fit the group's ability.) We specialize in small family or mixed groups that give the best experience possible. If you have a group of 8 or more and would like a private session, please get in touch with us. Using our online booking system, you can select available sessions and dates and make multiple bookings. All safety equipment and a wetsuit are provided with a booked session. Because we are AALA Registered with the Health and Safety Executive, we can legally take unaccompanied children under 18 coasteering.
